This round rice paper lantern includes elements of old and new Japanese design. The body of the lamp is crafted from lacquered wood, and the shade is fiber reinforced pressed pulp rice paper. Like all rice paper lanterns, they cast a beautiful, soft, warm, indirect light, which, some people feel, tends to make everything in the room look better.
Rice paper lanterns came into use in Japan when paper was first produced there. They have been popular ever since. Of course now they're electric, not candles, and have distinctive modern design elements, like the decorative lattice rings and the convenient arched cross piece on the top collar. Although they look like expensive accent lamps, we import these lamps directly, and pass the savings on to our customers.
